I am interested in how children learn words and concepts and how these processes inform each other. What is the nature of the language input that children receive from parents and caregivers and how does this influence learning? What abilities and intuitions do children bring to the learning environment and what role do these play in children’s learning?

Causal Effects of Parent Number Talk on Preschoolers’ Number Knowledge
​Child Development.

We designed picture books for a randomly assigned intervention and found kids learn more about numbers  when parents talk more about numbers.
